About
The Trails
If you're looking for a system of
awesome bike trails in a beautiful
mountain setting, Summit County
Colorado should be tops on your list.
At
the heart of this complex of paved,
car free bike paths and mountain bike
single track is Frisco, an old mining
& railroad town. From Frisco,
paved, ten foot/three meter wide trails
lead to the famous ski resort towns
of Breckenridge, Copper Mountain,
Keystone and Vail. Additionally, fat
tire bike routes climb on jeep roads
and single track over high mountain
passes to places like Leadville, Montezuma
and beyond - even to Durango (the
Colorado Trail).
The
trails are a combination of former
railroad beds, wagon routes, old mine
flumes and former cattle drive paths;
however, all offer days of incredible
& unforgettable outdoor adventure.
Getting
There
I-70 offers quick access from
Denver to all of the above trails.
Just get in a car & head west.
Drive time from Denver International
Airport runs about 2-4 hours. Note
that some of these trails are at altitudes
in excess of 10,000 feet.
