With
each passing day, I'm becoming more
excited about the upcoming bike trip
in September to Glacier National Park,
the bike trails leading East from
Spokane into the Bitterroot Mountains
of Idaho and bicycling in Chicago
(along the lakeshore, etc.).
If
you'd like to ride with me on any
of these epic rides, look for more
details soon (in my blog),
including special discounts that some
of the hotels are making available.
Also, if you have a contact that can
help me book lodging at any of the
fine hotels near Grant Park, please
let me know.

Thanks
go to Amtrak for making possible the first in
our series of bike trips to identify the best
places to go bicycling in North America. Riding
the trains from New Orleans to Memphis and Atlanta
to New Orleans were a great way to start and end
this trip. I biked in both Tennessee and North
Carolina, getting some great photos and collecting
a wealth of information for upcoming bicycling
stories. For more about the trip, visit my blog
or the photo
gallery of the trip that I've just added to
the site.

For Immediate Release
Beginning
in August of 2006 and spanning over the next 36
months, I'm making 45 bike trips to ride and write
stories about great places to go bicycling. A
story about each bicycle trip will be published
here and more stories will be added regularly.
Each
story will contain interactive trail maps with
photos and links to nearby lodging, attractions,
dining & cycling services. The maps will be
updated in real time, allowing visitors like you
to chart my progress. I'll also be posting entries
to my blog
daily from the trails.
Among
the first stories I'm writing is one about bicycling
the Centennial, Coeur d'Alenes & Hiawatha
bike trails in Western Washington and Northern
Idaho. Look for more information to be posted
either here or on my blog
as it becomes available.
