Trip Report: La Dolce Vita Tour

Several days ago, I returned from La Dolce Vita Tour 2017.

From start to finish, it was a great fun. For all days on the trail save one, the weather was ideal for cycling. We biked through 4 mountain valleys and spent a fun day in Venice. The guests were impressed how well Bromptons integrate with multi-modal transportation. We'd ride the Brommies from our hotel to the train or bus terminal to focus on the most spectacular parts of the bike trails. Sometimes we even made 2 or 3 transit connections to get where we wanted to go. We also Uber'd or took shuttles to/from airports, something which would have been possible but far more expensive if we all had standard, non-folding bikes.

An Epic, European Bike Trip

This week, I returned from my European bike trip and it was fabulous.
My plan was to ride on 5 trails in 3 countries. With better than expected weather and everything going according to plan, I found myself with time for more cycling. In total, I ended up riding on 7 trails in 3 countries. Plus, I explored 6 towns and cities by Brompton folding bicycle, seeing more than I ever could by walking or any other means of transportation.

The most amazing part is that I did the above in a week's time. I used planes, trains and buses to cover the longer distances so I could focus on bicycling the most scenic areas. This strategy worked extremely well; I arrived home tired but very happy and ready to plan for next year's group tour.

5 Bike Trails - 3 Countries - 6 days

In less than 3 weeks, I'm taking a bicycle trip to ride some of the world's best paved bike trails. I'll only have about a week for this adventure; my goal is to cover 5 trails in that time. Considering that these trails are in 3 different countries, characterizing my itinerary as ambitious may be an understatement.

Holiday Closures

RideTHISbike will close at 1PM on Thursday, 24 December 2015 (Christmas Eve) and re-open on Saturday, 26 December 2015. Additionally, we will close at 1PM on Thursday, 31 December 2015 (Christmas Eve) and re-open on Saturday, 2 January 2016. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

Bike Rentals During Holidays

For those that may wish to rent bikes while we are closed for the holidays, your rental bikes must be picked up by no later than 12:30PM on either Thursday, 24 December 2015 or Thursday, 31 December 2015. Standard rental rates will apply and no one from the shop will be available should you need repairs while we are closed.
