Answers to Common Repair Questions
We believe in clear communication about what to expect when you bring your bike in for service. Below are the most common questions we receive from customers.
Do you offer pickup, delivery, or mobile repair?
No. All repairs are performed in our shop. Customers must bring their bikes to our French Quarter location for service.
How long will my repair take?
Turnaround time varies depending on the work ahead of you and whether parts must be ordered. While we aim to complete most jobs within 24 hours, that’s not always possible.
What is your labor rate?
Our labor rate is $65 per hour. Estimates are provided before work begins, but the final cost may be higher or lower depending on actual time required or unexpected issues found during service.
Do you guarantee your repairs?
We guarantee that all service and repair work is completed and road-tested by a qualified mechanic. Once your bike leaves our store, no additional warranty applies.
Do you service all brands of bikes and e-bikes?
We focus on servicing bikes that we sell, including Aventon, Velotric, Rayvolt, Blaupunkt, and other brands RideTHISbike represents. For bikes not purchased here, we may perform basic work such as tube and tire replacements, but we reserve the right to decline service.
Why don’t you repair all e-bikes?
After 15 years of servicing e-bikes, we found that getting parts or technical support from certain brands was unreliable. To protect our staff’s time and safety, we now limit service to the e-bikes we sell and support directly.
Can you repair bikes that won’t fit your workstand?
If an e-bike or heavy cargo bike cannot safely fit in a professional-grade bicycle workstand, we cannot accept it for service for safety reasons.
Where can I park when dropping off my bike?
RideTHISbike is located on the first floor of a multi-story parking garage. There’s another garage directly across the street and metered parking nearby, which is free on Sundays. With advance notice, we can often meet customers at the curb for drop-off.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, cash, and tap-to-pay. Payment is due when service is complete and before pickup.
What if my bike needs a part you don’t have in stock?
We order the required parts through our trusted suppliers. In most cases, parts arrive within a few business days; however, delays can occur depending on manufacturer availability. If we anticipate an extended delay, we will contact you to pick up the bike so storage fees do not accrue and reach back out once the part has arrived. We understand this is not convenient but lately there have been extended delays getting some specialty parts from overseas and we do not have the capability to hold bikes for an extended period.
Our Service Philosophy
We’ve been repairing bikes in New Orleans for over 20 years. Our philosophy is simple: treat others the way we’d like to be treated. Although we focus on the brands we sell, we’re happy to help whenever possible — and if we can’t fix it, we’ll point you in the right direction.
