Places To Ride – Explore More by Bike
For nearly two decades, RideTHISbike has shared one of the most extensive personal collections of free cycling rides a bicycle rider could do in a variety of places around the world, our Places To Ride directory. What began as a local list of favorite New Orleans rides has grown into a curated guide to outstanding bike routes across Louisiana, the Gulf Coast, and beyond.
On our main Places To Ride hub, you’ll find ride ideas for every type of cyclist—from relaxing City Rides that highlight neighborhood charm and hidden parks to more adventurous Long Rides that stretch across scenic backroads, bayous, and coastal trails. Each mini-guide includes insights from our own team of riders—locals who know the best routes, stops, and scenery.
We’re also expanding this series with Gulf Coast ride recommendations inspired by Amtrak’s new Mardi Gras Service to Mobile, offering riders new ways to pair train travel with unforgettable cycling experiences between New Orleans and Alabama. And, just as we’ve done for years, we’ll continue publishing highlights of world-class cycling destinations drawn from our original archives— places that have inspired riders everywhere.
Whether you’re planning a short neighborhood spin, a coastal day trip, or an international cycling adventure, our Places To Ride collection is your starting point. Explore, dream, and discover new rides—then come visit us in the French Quarter to share your stories.
We’re located just 1½ blocks off Canal Street — a short walk from the Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt French Quarter, Holiday Inn Maison Dupuy, and Courtyard Marriott French Quarter, with most other major hotels nearby.
