3G Bikes is the result of a lifetime of insight into the bicycle industry. In 1995, Gary Silva began creating chopper bicycles. Gary's the main man behind the chopper style bike trend of the late 90’s. He co-founded Phat Cycles.
In 2005, after years of additional experimentation with design, Gary established 3G Bikes in Long Beach California. Silva named his company after the 3 Garys he admired: Gary Fisher (mountain bike inventor), Gary Klein (Cannondale welding innovator and Gary Turner (founder of GT Bicycles).
3G bikes focus on comfortable and functional pedal forward style geometry. The rider's position is upright and relaxed. Frames on 3G's are typically stretched so the saddle can be lower, allowing riders to be able to touch the ground without getting out of the saddle. Handlebars are swept back so you don't have to lean forward.
With various models available in up to 18 color combinations, 3G now offers bikes in 100 of choices. Here are some of our favorites.
Newport DLX
Pedal forward aluminum frame cruiser in Matte Black with anodized copper checkerboard rims. This is one of the coolest stock cruiser bikes we know; it's available either with 1 or 3 speeds (see photo above).
G’LINDA
Pedal forward unisex aluminum frame cruiser with 700c wheels, fenders, hand brakes (incl. rear disc brake) 3 piece crank and locking ergo grips. These are available either with 1 or 7 speeds (see photo right of girl riding bike).
Chicago
Pedal forward men's aluminum frame cruiser with 700c wheels, fenders, hand brakes (incl. rear disc brake) 3 piece crank and locking ergo grips. These are available either with 1 or 7 speeds (see photo right).
Street Worthy
3G's wheels take well to potholes, smooth asphalt or sand. These are truly cruisers in every sense of the word. They're comfortable, ride well and they look great too.
Low Maintenance
Most 3G's are very simple to maintain as they tend to be single speeds or internally geared 3 speeds with pedal backwards style coaster brakes. Some of the models also feature disc brakes for faster stopping in all weather conditions and long durability.
