Current Voucher Amounts
The program offers a $600 general voucher and a $1,200 income-qualified voucher. A $1,200 voucher may cover the eligible pre-tax price of some qualifying bikes, but applicable sales tax remains the customer's responsibility. Unused voucher value is not paid as cash.
The Short Answer
Possibly, but not automatically. A selected income-qualified resident may receive a $1,200 voucher. If that resident chooses a qualifying new e-bike whose eligible price is no more than the voucher amount, the voucher could cover the bike price. That does not guarantee that every final charge is zero.
A $600 voucher is less likely to cover the entire price of a qualifying e-bike. In either case, the resident must be selected, the voucher must be valid, the retailer and bike must meet final program requirements, and the purchase must follow the official redemption instructions.
How the New Orleans E-Bike Rebate Works

When Could the E-Bike Price Be Fully Covered?
Suppose a selected income-qualified resident has a valid $1,200 voucher and an officially qualifying e-bike has an eligible price of $1,200 or less. In that limited situation, the voucher could cover the bike price. If the bike costs more than $1,200, the buyer must cover the difference. A resident with a $600 voucher must cover any eligible price above $600.
Applicable sales tax is not covered by the voucher. Other amounts may depend on the bike, accessories, financing, and program rules. Do not rely on a “free e-bike” claim unless the seller provides a clear written price breakdown and the transaction is eligible.
Current Operational Status
The application period is September 28 through October 9, 2026. Applicants must first complete the City-linked Smart E-Bike Course and save the completion certificate. The registration link is live on the official City program page.
The program has been announced, funding has been allocated, and City Council records identify APTIM for program administration. The City now publishes a participating-retailer list. A model-by-model approval list is not shown on that City page.
What to Verify Before Relying on a “Free E-Bike” Claim
- Use the official City program page to confirm the current application window and register.
- Confirm that you were selected and received a valid official voucher.
- Confirm that the retailer appears on the City’s current participating-retailer list.
- Confirm that the exact e-bike model satisfies all final program requirements.
- Request the complete out-the-door price, including taxes, fees, accessories, and any remaining balance.
- Do not pay anyone for a voucher or rely on a transferred voucher.

Can I use a New Orleans rebate voucher today?
