Stash A Giatex In The Cockpit Just In Case

I love planes and flying. When I fly, I smile from ear to ear every take off.

If you're a general aviation pilot, chances are that most of the FBO's (fixed-base operation to non-pilots) you've flown to offer either a crew car, courtesy car, or will hunt up a rental car so you don't need to hoof it just to get a bite to eat, to run errands or check in at the local hotel. Then there are other times when the FBO is either closed, unable or flat out unwilling to help you. In times like these, having an independent, backup means of transportation inside your cockpit could really come in handy.

Fully retracted, the Giatex requires minimal space, easily fitting into your Cardinal RG, Stinson, Piper Aztec, Kitfox, Cessna or even your experimental Glasair. Weighing in at just 27.5 lbs, the Giatex won't put you over your weight limit either.

It will come in handy the next time you...

• land for fuel and have to walk all around the strip just to find the lineboy.

• land at an almost forsaken grass strip to wait out some particularly sour weather.

• are forced you to park your plane 100+ yards from the FBO or terminal due to FAA parking procedures.

For those times when the only other form of ground transportation seems to be your feet, you'll be glad you brought your Giatex along for the ride.

Some even fit in the overhead bin on your flight.
