Video: Taipei by CarryMe
by Larry Lagarde
Just posted a short video from my trip last month to Taiwan. The video demonstrates the advantages of having a bike that's as easy to take on light rail, escalators or up a flight of steps as it is to ride. At about 3 minutes in length, the clip is well worth viewing.
If you're curious, the bicycle in the video is a CarryMe folding bike from Pacific Cycles. I visited their factory while in Taiwan and was amazed. More on that later.
One of the highlights of Interbike is the folding bike frolic, an early morning group ride of folding bikes through the streets of Las Vegas. This is my video of that ride (which took place about a month ago).
Notable bikes in the video include 3 Bigfish, a black Strida LT (the $495 Strida debuting in 2010) and several folders from Pacific Cycles that are just coming onto the marketplace (IF Mode full size slim folder, IF Reach, IF Reach DC folding electric bike, IF Urban 700c). The IF Reach DC in the video is the first production model (all black, silent/surge free electric assist, Swivel-head folding mechanism).
I filmed the video from the saddle of the very cool IF Urban, a 700c folding bike with an internally geared hub and disc brakes for quick stops and ultra low maintenance. Ideal for commuters, the Urban is a fast and comfortable machine but my favorite is still the IF Reach DC folding electric bicycle.
This is a short video I shot yesterday of the CarryAll, a unique, ultra lightweight (21 lb) folding trike (tricycle) for adults. This video portrays the CarryAll both in the folded and unfolded positions and provides some basic specs on this adult folding trike tricycle.
The CarryAll folds so compactly that it can be flown on some airlines as a carry on item.
After my 2 posts yesterday on RideTHISbike.com about shopping with the Mobiky Genius folding bike, several cyclists asked when I was going to post a video demonstrating the Mobiky. At lunchtime today, I did just that.
To see the video I shot to demonstrate riding, folding and unfolding the Mobiky Genius, click on the image shown below.
By the way, I also shot a video to show what it's like to ride the Mobiky. I shot the video from the saddle so there's a lot of wind noise and you won't see much of the folding bicycle; however, it's worth watching if you're really interested in the Mobiky Genius.
